Classic Rajasthan and Kerala
Rajasthan, the largest state in India is rich in vibrancy and architecture, whilst Kerala in contrast is well known for its tranquility and amazing natural scenery. These two combined have become the top states to be visited in India reflecting two very contrasting aspects of this country. This itinerary provides experiences of both states. Starting of in Rajasthan and following the Golden Triangle route, you visit the Pink city, the Taj Mahal and Delhi before flying onto Kerala for a relaxing trip along the backwaters area.
One of your main northern attractions will be the Amber Palace. The Palace which overlooks the man made lake south of the town of Amber is popularly recognized for its Hindu and Muslim architecture, with another one of the highlights being an elephant ride from the town to the top of the palace.
Following a visit to the memorable Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan for his favourite wife Mumtaz, you then head to ambient Kerala initially arriving into Trivandrum where you can enjoy the Malabar Arabian coast from the Kovalam shores. After departing the palm tree laden area, you head onto your backwaters cruise, where you enjoy a night on a luxury houseboat cruising the canals and tributaries. The evening provides a first class meal cooked on board as the scenery passes you slowly. The trip concludes in Cochin which is often described as the heart and soul of Kerala, with visits to the Dutch Palace, Santa Cruz Basilica and the famous Chinese fishing.
