Getting Around:
Travelling in India is an exciting part of the trip with so many means of transport available to choose from leading to an abundance of opportunity and experience. If undertaking a private journey, then you will be travelling in your own private vehicle car with personal driver that is familiar with the roads and cities of the areas you will be visiting.

All the vehicles within our fleet have an all India tourist permit and are air conditioned for your cooling needs. The type of vehicle for the trip will be based on the number of people travelling, but at all sizes the cars are maintained to the highest standard.

For the longer journeys, different methods of transport are used. Trains are used for longer distances with bookings in First Class AC always made. As the Indian Railway System is India's largest employer, travelling by train is a great insight into the dynamics of the country as well as road.

Other options we use include domestic internal flights with reliable carriers. One of the most popular and frequent flights include the flight from Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Trivanduram in Kerala.

For more information on the methods of travel for your trip, please contact our tour consultants.

Packing and Preparation
India is a mesmerizing destination, rich in tapestry and culture with every street corner. Therefore we have devised the following tips as a guide on how to approach your incredible trip to India
When packing your bags, be sure to include a day sack that you can carry around with you, essential for carrying around bottles of mineral water, cameras and sun cream. A 5 litre bag is often more then enough to carry around all the daily accessories you will need to make each day convenient. A comprehensive list of what to include in your day sack is seen below:
Sun cream
Sun glasses
Face wipes
Mineral water
Camera
Mosquito spray (depending on the area you are visiting)
Allow for extra baggage: When packing your bags, it is advised from our customer experience, to leave up to 5 kg extra weight for your luggage. With every stand, bazaar, market and store available to purchase handicrafts, jewellery, crockery, spices, pictures and paintings and more, it is wise to set aside space for these items.

Tipping like most places in the world is optional and something that is entirely based on your experiences with the quality of service that is provided. We generally recommend that if you are happy with the service at the restaurant and local guide then 10 - 15% is sufficient. For porters at railway stations, airports and hotels we generally recommend a 20 rupee tip on top of the standard service charge

India is fast becoming a nation of English speakers, with an excellent level of spoken English in many parts. For our journeys, our local guides, drivers, ground contacts are well versed in English. If and when you do come across non English speakers, it is often recommend to say a polite "namaste" as a hello.

Clothing to India is a frequently asked question because of a) the warm climates and b) the cultural differences between the east and the west. It is recommended that you bring with you light clothing that breathes quite well. Cotton clothing is highly recommended, with shorts and t shirts proving to be a popular choice.

It is recommended that before your trip to India, that you obtain all the necessary vaccinations and inoculations. Below is a table of the required vaccinations, but we request that you contact either your local GP or NHS travel clinic prior to your trip for the latest information.

When travelling in India, we recommend that when out and about, that you drink mineral water from a sealed bottle. The brands Evian and the like are all available from most Indian outlets. The most popular and recommended mineral water brand in India is called "Bisleri". In order to maintain a steady stomach we recommend eating in well established restaurants and hotel restaurants throughout your trip, and avoid street vendors throughout.
